Delegates at a conference on Gulf security warned yesterday that Iran's acquisition of an atomic bomb could trigger a hectic arms race and destabilise the entire region.
The experts, including a former US diplomat and a retired army general, underlined the need for Gulf Arabs and Western countries to acknowledge Iran's security needs and called for integrating the Iranian nation in any US-sponsored security arrangements.
