ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Iran and Syria significantly increased their military budgets during 2003.
Ahmed Mustafa, an analyst based in Qatar, said Syria's 2003 budget rose by 40 percent over the previous year. Mustafa said Iran spent 23.5 percent more in 2003 as compared to 2002.
