The earthquake in Bam on Friday December 26, 2003 has left behind several
tens of thousands of victims (one third of the population) in the BAM region
in Iran. A Committee of associations and humanitarian organisations has been
set up urgently in Paris (France) in order to mobilise public opinion and
gather donations that will be sent to the victims through the Red Cross and
the French NGO: Médecins sans frontières (Doctors with no Borders) present
in the field.
A solidarity event will be held in collaboration with the Town Hall of the
15th Arrondissement of Paris on January 2, 2003 from 16H till 20H at the
following address:
Mairie du XVème
Place Adolphe Chérioux, 75015 Paris
Metro station: Vaugirard / Bus lines: 70, 80, 39, 88
We invite the public to attend the event and to support victims of the
earthquake through donations. All funds gathered at the solidarity event,
held in collaboration with artists and well known personalities, will be
donated to the Red Cross and the NGO Doctors with no borders (Médecins sans
frontières).
