A book in Persian is published that reflects the functions and status of mosque in traditional and modern Islamic societies. It covers various topics about the functions and status of the mosques in Islamic societies. The articles are written from different historical, sociological, economic, political and cultural viewpoints. The editor of the book is Emad ad-din Baghi, an independent Iranian journalist and researcher who has recently finished his term of prison . He was 2.5 years in prison because of writing some essays about serial killings of intellectuals and political activists. Most of the participants are from the religious intellectuals who are pro-reform in Iran, people like Alavi Tabaar, Ghaabel, and Meibudi.
