BANGKOK (Dow Jones)--Thailand's Ministry of Energy and the state-controlled PTT Exploration & Production PCL (PTTEP.TH) signed separate memorandums of understanding Thursday with Iran's Ministry of Petroleum to promote cooperation in exploration and production between the two countries.
The government to government MOU gives backing to cooperation between the Iranian ministry and PTTEP; sets up a feasibility study on the importation of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, from Iran for Thai domestic use; supports exchange of experience in compressed natural gas and natural gas for vehicles; invites Iran to participate in the Thai Petroleum Trading Center and planned strategic energy landbridge; and plans cooperation in petrochemical investments in Iran.
