Showtime, the leading pay-TV network in the Middle East and North Africa, has launched its latest entertainment exclusive – Hollywood Blockbuster Movies subtitled in Farsi.
The first ever such initiative in the region, Farsi speaking audiences in the Middle East will now be able to enjoy watching these movies in their own language by subscribing to Showtime’s Movies Plus or Total Plus packages.
“We have chosen some of Hollywood’s top movies to include in our Farsi package, such as Jacky Chan’s The Medallion; Bill Murray’s Lost in Translation; Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator 3; Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Biker Boyz; Hollywood Homicide and the Hollywood Epic, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen amongst many others,” said Peter Einstein, Showtime’s President and CEO.
The movies are being subtitled in Iran to ensure quality and linguistic accuracy. Showtime will be showing over 15 Farsi subtitled movies every month. In addition to a dedicated farsi service, Al Sha Sha has also been showing Farsi language movie subtitled into Arabic including such titles as A Time for Drunken Horses and Gypsy both of which have enjoyed international recognition.
This represents Showtime’s latest initiative to provide the best in family entertainment to all audiences in the region.
