IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted the vicinity of Abgarm region in western province of Qazvin on Tuesday.
According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 15:23 hours local time (1153 GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 49.32 degrees in longitude and 35.67 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
