What is the nature of Iranian political regime now? Majid Mohammadi

Iranian political regime is in a transitory process. It is transferring from a clerical authoritarianism to mafiacracy. Disqualifications of reformists in the parliamentasry election of 2004 is a cricial step of this transition. Iranian political regime in not a traditional or charismatic regime; it cannot also be considered as a legal one. What we know about this regime is that it is an authoritarian regime with no mobilization, very limited pluralism in the polity and a ruling caste with unlimited power. This small group is going to be a mafia that is organized all over the country through para-military, the mass army of Guardian Council inspectors, the judiciary and state-run Radio and TV, all appointed bodies of governbment ; the cement of its organization is non-contractual and non-bureaucratic bonds that are built during violent and illegal actions against dissidents.
