Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad ElBaradei said here Saturday resumption of negotiations and dialogue is the only way for confidence building and solution to Iran's nuclear crisis.
At the end of 6-day meetings of the IAEA's Board of Governors, ElBaradei, in a press conference in IAEA Headquarters, said that in today's meeting, the members expressed satisfaction and happiness over keeping Iran's nuclear dossier in the IAEA and not sending it to the UN Security Council.
The outcome of Saturday's meeting included the message that there is still the chance of solving Iran's problem through negotiation and,"we hope that the problem can be solved peacefully and reach to a desirable point," ElBaradei said.
He noted many of Board's members also expressed readiness for cooperation with Iran and European Union (EU) to solve the crisis and to end the dispute.
IAEA's head continued the adopted resolution also sent the message to Iran that the international community is not satisfied with Iran's cooperation level and confidence building measures and postponed issues.
He added in the resolution of the board of governors it was asked from Iran to increase its cooperation with IAEA.
ElBaradei said, "I hope Iran extends its cooperation with the agency and other countries to create confidence and prove its peaceful activities."
He also expressed hope that all countries do their utmost efforts to return to negotiation table.
IAEA director general stipulated that unity is the only way to progress and said, "We are all either winners or losers".
The Egyptian diplomat, who has been heading the agency for nine years, said sending Iran's nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council can be the last alternative and its time and method depends on the negotiation process.
He noted that in his previous reports to the agency, he has acknowledged good progresses concerning Iran's nuclear activities and expressed hope that the process could continue to November and witness more progress.
Referring to his meeting with Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, ElBaradei said, "The Iranian senior official expressed desire for continuation of cooperation with Agency.
Regarding the final decision about referral of Iran's nuclear dossier to UN Security Council in November, ElBaradei said, "There is still time for diplomacy".
He added, "We all must take advantage of this period of time".
The next meeting of the Board of Governors is to be held in November.
